So former Busted Coverage morning guy Peter Burns (@PeterBurnsESPN) , who went on to bigger and better things with the SEC Network and hosting the Paul Finebaum Show while Paul is on vacation, dropped a bomb yesterday during his Finebaum stint that Alabama would have a horrible year and lose a bowl game.
Of course Finebaum listeners lost their minds because this nonsense was being spewed on a pro-Bama show that was built by Bama rednecks.
Here’s the thinking from Burns:
Looking at the schedule, he said road games at Georgia and Auburn were the best bets for Alabama losses. Match ups with Texas A&M, Arkansas and Tennessee were “coin flips” and LSU is always a battle. All told, he said Alabama could lose four regular-season games and that disappointment will spill over into a bowl-game defeat.
So let’s look at this schedule that definitely has land mines.
The first comes at Georgia where it’ll likely be a GameDay stop and it’ll be a game that Mark Richt, who hasn’t won very many big games, will have this huge opportunity to bury some of his demons. The offense is there to give Bama’s top-rated defense trouble. Nick Chubb has a big game to set up his Heisman campaign. Give me Georgia in this one. Something tells me this one ends up a classic like the 2013 game in Athens against LSU.
Then come the games against A&M, Arkansas, Tennessee and LSU. Only the A&M game is on the road. The Tide sweeps the board here. This is the stretch when Derrick Henry just trucks teams. I’m talking 30 carry games.
That gets us all the way to the Iron Bowl and a battle with Malzahn and Muschamp. The Auburn offensive line loses three starters, but returns six guys who have SEC starts. They’ll be fine by the last game of the season. Alabama knows a loss means they’re out of the Final Four. Auburn is playing for the SEC West title. Auburn wins, goes to the SEC title game and loses to Georgia.
Alabama, with two loses, goes to the Sugar Bowl and lays an egg.
Bama finishes 10-3 and fans run Kiffin out of town.

Exactly:
Why Bama isn’t losing five games:
