Ever seen a deer do that much front-end damage to a Mercedes? And no blood? No hair stuck in the grill?? Me either. But that was the defense Spikes went with Sunday after likely rear-ending a family’s Murano.
According to the Boston Globe:
Troopers responding to the stretch of highway found the luxury sedan, whose driver had left the scene, Procopio said Sunday afternoon. The Mercedes had damage to its front, and no evidence of a deer was found nearby, Procopio said.
Around the same time and near the same area of the interstate, the unidentified occupants of a 2009 Nissan Murano reported being rear-ended. The occupants — a 51-year-old man, a 32-year-old woman, and a 12-year-old boy, all of Billerica — were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, Procopio said. They told police they did not see the other car, Procopio said.

And……the Pats released Spikes this morning.
Think about how bad a weekend can go for a guy like Spikes. He is re-signed by his old squad and has a very good chance to make some decent money and possibly play for a Super Bowl ring. He gets to go to all the great Patriots events and hang out with the GOAT.
The next night he “hits a deer” and leaves his car on the highway. Not how you draw it up, but it happens and suddenly you’re unemployed. That’s not a good weekend for a 27-year-old linebacker. He lasted less than a week with the Pats. And his $400,000 Maybach is all f’d up.
