Update: The Astros say the man with the gun is a plain clothes officer who was at the game to honor a fallen Houston Police Department cop killed in the line of duty.
I haven’t been to an Astros game lately so I have no clue what the security procedure is these days at Minute Maid, but most ballparks are using the metal detector wands to look for weapons. Of course this is Texas so maybe there’s a different rule. I’ll check. Watch this:

So I checked with Minute Maid and there is a rule that customers must walk through metal detectors. Maybe the gun is fake. Plastic?
Maybe there was some sort of giveaway.
