Let me explain to you why it’s great to be Justin Verlander right now. Take the scenario that went down this weekend in St. Louis where a disabled listed Verlander was with the Tigers, but had plenty of free time to do things like spend time with Kate Upton, who flew into town from Vancouver where she’s shooting some movie with William H. Macy.
Let’s say Pageviews is in town for like two nights. We’re talking pure sex, like 10-12 times a day sex, for two straight days. I’m talking about a 48-hour bender where you’re good for the next month. Got it all out of your system. Seriously, they sit at a bar and Upton can’t keep her tongue out of JV’s mouth.
This is pretty much a dream scenario. Then she jumps on a plane back to work.
Could a guy like Verlander, who has made $114,515,000 to date in his career, tell Upton to clear her schedule and just travel with him through the season? Of course, but you know she’d get annoying. That’s why these weekend flings are the best. Both warriors know what’s coming and they prepare mentally.
Then you go to battle and it’s over until the next weekend visit in June — or whenever the movie shoot wraps. It’s soooo damn good to be Justin Verlander.
