By now, most of you have heard that the Marlins went full-on Marlins (again) by naming general manager, Dan Jennings, as their new skipper. After firing Mike Redmond, the thought of paying just one guy to do two major jobs — despite the fact that he has no managerial experience — was probably too good to pass up for owner Jeff Loria.
So Loria saves money, but what about the players? Will they be receptive to a guy who’s never managed a professional game? It’s obviously too early to know, but it looks like Ichiro’s game for anything as he hazed his corporate boss by putting a tie on him:
