It was a sad Monday in baseball when word leaked that Dodgers pitcher Brandon McCarthy had suffered a torn UCL, and required season-ending Tommy John surgery. However, while fans and fantasy baseball nerds were bummed out, Brandon deflected all the sadness with some humor:

According to the Orange County Register’s Bill Plunkett, Brandon underwent surgery this morning, which totally makes sense considering his latest tweet:
