Despite being down 15 points to Xavier late in the second half, Ole Miss players Martavious Newby and M.J. Rhett opted to go “showtime” with an alley-oop attempt in transition. Suffice it so say, it did not work out too well for them.
As you can see above, Newby and Rhett had some communication problems — to say the least — on the pass. Fortunately, Rhett was able to haul in the pass and score, but man … that was not a good look.
Good to see Ole Miss is more interested in looking hip and practicing dunk contest slams than the Rebels are in winning the game.
