Katie Nolan’s new show “Garbage Time” made its debut Sunday night on Fox Sports 1 and….the intro is simply amazing. If you’re a Katie Nolan fan, you’re in heaven. If you’re not familiar with Katie, your brain is fried right now. Give it time. This is good stuff, trust me. You’re actually watching sports pop culture here that the 18-35 demo is dying for.
You guys wanted an alternative to the ESPN nonsense, so here it is. There’s actual writing that goes on here. Listen to those joke lines. That is writing. This is like watching a combination of Katie’s YouTube/Guyism work mixed with a side of SNL’s Weekend Update.
Only criticism is that the producer needs to work a female laugh into the laugh track. Too many dudes. I already know there are a bunch of dorky white dudes working behind the scenes. Give me a variety of laughs.
It’s week one of at least 26 or so before Fox cancels Garbage Time. Enjoy it while you can.
