Brandon Workman is coming off a 1-10 season as a starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. It’s a new year, a new Brandon Workman, a new job (the Sox are moving him to the bullpen) and he went and got engaged to his girlfriend, Taylor Caswell, on Sunday. Caswell, who throws the discus for Baylor’s track & field team, just happened to be in Florida since the school started its Spring Break on Friday.

Smart move from Workman. You get this out of the way early during your work week and get back to baseball business. Do the beach thing, bust out the ring, do photos and then dinner. The next morning it’s back to winning a bullpen job and making more than the $518,000 in 2014. That wedding is going to be expensive.
