Ball State Offers Free Ham & Peaches For Football Season Ticket Purchases

A Ball State professor wrote to me tonight and said she’s waiting for the Cardinals ticket office to offer a sack of potatoes for buying football tickets so she’ll be able to knock out Easter dinner. In one of the more interesting ticket offers that I’ve seen over the years, Ball State is offering free ham and peaches for purchasing football tickets.
And this isn’t some sort of #MACtion Twitter joke. Ball State is serious. This was included in a February 16 press release:

Over the next six weeks, leading into the start of Ball State football spring practice on March 24, Ball State athletics will be announcing details of future football schedules. Accompanying each announcement will be an incentive for fans to purchase new season tickets.
In honor of today’s date-change announcement featuring our opponent from the state of Virginia, anyone who purchases new season tickets will be sent a Virginia ham, courtesy of the Cardinals. To qualify for the Virginia ham promotion, the new season ticket purchase must be made by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Season tickets begin at $66 per seat and can be purchased by calling 888-BSU-TICKET.

So you missed the free ham. That’s OK, the Cardinals got real crazy this week with the peaches offer. The free basket of Georgia peaches for buying season tickets ended tonight at 5.
OK, so you missed that offer, too.
Keep an eye on @BallStateSports. The offers keep rolling in. Bowling Green is on the home schedule so maybe the Cardinals ticket office will offer you a dozen ears of sweet corn. It’s like playing Let’s Make A Deal with season tickets. This is kinda fun.
