I’d like to take this time to have a little talk with those quarterbacks at the NFL Combine who think they must run a 4.4 40 and have ripped abs to get drafted and stick with some team. Jimmy Clausen is on his honeymoon right now with his professional volleyball wife, Jess Gysin, looking like he hasn’t seen a piece of cardio equipment in at least 3-4 months. You see what I see. Tits out for his new wife’s friends.
You don’t have to do 1,000 ab crunches like Kaep. You don’t have to look like Cam Newton in an Under Armour commercial to stick around in the league. You don’t have to wear Superman socks like that fraud RG3. Just be able to throw a football and don’t mind holding a playbook for the starting QB. You’ll have a long NFL career and make great money without the concussions.
OK, so Clausen got popped in the dome late in the season when Cutler gave up on the Bears, but it was just one concussion and he probably won’t get into a game for a couple years. He’ll be fine.
You guys can look like a schlub and be successful. Ever see Eli Manning at the beach?
So Jimmy Clausen, 27, just looks like some random guy on his honeymoon with his hot volleyball wife. Bears bucket hat. Not a care in the world. I’ve been hard on Jim over the years, but this guy seems to have life figured out. He didn’t get all hung up on 40 times, how much he could bench or broad jump. He’s never going to be a hired guy starting quarterback. There’s nothing wrong with that. Just chill and save your health.
It’s never been better to be Jim Clausen.
