It’s not uncommon to see a basketball player accidentally tip the ball into his (or her) team’s own basket. You play in enough of these games and weird crap like that just happens. However, never in my life have I seen a buzzer-beating victory via an accidental tip-in—until tonight.
With Florida and Florida State tied at 63-63 and nearing overtime, Devon Bookert of the Seminoles hoisted up a three for a potential game-winner. He was way short, but luckily for him Florida’s Jacob Kurtz accidentally tipped it home while trying to secure the rebound, giving FSU the 65-63 victory.
If we’re searching for a silver lining for Florida, at least it was a unique way to lose a game?
