Rajon Rondo Drops Lance Stephenson With High Elbow

If you had to come up with a list of the biggest head cases in the NBA, Rajon Rondo and Lance Stephenson would undoubtedly be on it. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that those two exchanged blows Wednesday night as the Boston Celtics faced the Charlotte Hornets.
During the third quarter and the Hornets going on the offensive, Rondo delivered an elbow to the neck of a jogging Stephenson:

The weird part is that play carried on despite Lance clearly try to sell a foul call. However, a double technical was eventually assessed on the two after Lance responded with a slight jab.

Rondo finished the game with a triple-double (12 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds) in a losing effort. After the game, he suggested that Stephenson accentuated the elbow with a flop (via MassLive):

“He weighs about 60 more pounds than me, but that’s part of his game,” Rondo said.
“The game is contact. The game we play is contact. Whatever you saw, I don’t know,” he added. “I am strong. But I don’t think I was that strong on that play in particular to knock him down.”

Whatever the case, these two are still the biggest douchebags in the league.
