Devious Portland State Player Fakes Handshake, Steals Ball and Dunks

Unlike baseball, professional basketball doesn’t have an encyclopedia of ridiculous unwritten rules to follow. And I would imagine the ones the sport does have are super obvious—don’t run up the score, don’t pad your stats (talking to you, triple-double seekers), foul unnecessarily at the end of games, etc.
But since these are just subjective rules of what society perceives as proper etiquette, not everyone has to subscribe to the philosophy. Portland State’s Bryce White certainly doesn’t.
Towards the end of the Portland State-Portland game on Wednesday, Alec Wintering of the Pilots attempted to dribble out the clock to seal his team’s victory. That’s when White came in and did something you don’t see everyday—faking the end-of-game handshake so he could position himself for the steal and breakaway dunk.

In case you were wondering what the slam looked like, Youtube user Jason Kuffner uploaded that one as well:

Not going to lie, I kind of dig how shameless he is about it. Hell, he even gives one of his teammates a high five towards the end of the clip.
White finished the game with 12 points (4-11), three assists, and two steals. He also played the most minutes on his team, so maybe he thought he deserved a reward.
