Best fans. Best football players. Best teams. Best conference in college football. There is absolutely no reason I can see right now why this college football playoff bracket from Skip Bayless is wrong. Of course we throw out Florida State because they really didn’t beat Notre Dame and we’re left with SEC schools who have to play NFL schedules compared to the rest of college football.
So what about Notre Dame if they really did beat Florida State?
Have you even looked at the Irish schedule? An unbeaten Notre Dame beating teams like Rice, Syracuse, Michigan, Purdue and North Carolina has no right being in the discussion with one-loss SEC teams.
Bama loses on the road to Ole Miss. Ole Miss loses on the road to LSU. Auburn loses on the road to Mississippi State. Those trump a hypothetically unbeaten Notre Dame.
So let’s take a look a hypothetically one-loss Florida State. Your biggest win came against Clemson? Oklahoma State? This is laughable. What about Oregon? Do you even know who beat Oregon of the top of your head? Arizona at AUTZEN!
Just do a quick eye test. Would Florida State be undefeated if it played in the SEC West? How many loses would Notre Dame have if it played Bama, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss and Mississippi State in a season.
The answer is simple: Neither would be in the playoff discussion.
