Former NFL CB Ellis Hobbs Is Selling His Massive Georgia Mansion — $2.1 Million

Former NFL cornerback Ellis Hobbs must be tired of living like a rich professional athlete, because he has listed his 6,000 sq. ft. (not counting the incredible basement) Georgia house for a healthy $2,100,000. The name doesn’t ring a bell? He was one of Belichick’s top corners and even had an interception in Super Bowl XLII. A disc injury would eventually finish his career and he retired in 2011.
So the guy made some money. It’s impossible to actually know how much Hobbs made because NFL contracts are a complete disaster to keep track of. Let’s just say he made enough to buy this house in 2010 for $1.8 million. As you can see from the photos, Ellis, who has an art and design degree from Iowa State, put together one of the best athlete houses I’ve seen all year in this price range. The theater is classy; the pool area looks like Caesars Palace; the kitchen is massive.
According to the realtor:

Enjoy the best of amenities in this recently updated home, including a 5 car garage, private backyard w/pool & spa, a separate sports court & playground with soft rubber mulch ‘ground’. Interior boasts an exquisite full sized chef’s kitchen open to a large family room & sunlit breakfast room. Lovely owner’s suite on the main level with enormous closet space.

Look, unless you have a significant source of income, just tell your wife there is no way in hell you’re air conditioning the place. Take a look at the sitting room. Those have to be 20-foot ceilings. Don’t get blown away by how Ellis staged the house. Think about the heating and air conditioning bill. Have your head on straight.

Other Highlights Of Hobbs’ Masterpiece House:

• 6 beds, 7 baths
• It has a sauna!
• Golf course across the street
14 minutes to Whole Foods
23 minutes to the Main Stage gentleman’s club
