Ex-Chiefs Cheerleader Rachel Wray Thought She Was Dying In MMA Fight

Remember ex-Chiefs cheerleader Rachel Wray, the MMA fighter? I once started talks with her to sponsor one of her fights. It never happened and now her MMA career could be in jeopardy after a scary fight Saturday in Lakeland, TN where she lost and felt that she was dying, according to an interview with Fox Sports Kansas City.

“I’ve been choked out many times before and none of them were like this,” Wray, the former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader-turned-MMA fighter, tells FOXSportsKansasCity.com. “This time was different. I was so scared. I felt like that was the same feeling as dying.”

As you can see in the video shot by someone in the opponent’s camp, Wray was out and the ref seems to have trouble identifying that she’s out cold.

Wray is proven to not be afraid to take a punch. She was in a very violent stand-up brawl in 2013, but this fight was a whole different level.

Now Wray is firing back at the fight organizers and the ref.

Wray says she felt the referee waited too long to end the bout and was told by her camp that she might not have been properly handled while unconscious by Attitude MMA’s ring doctor.

Are you a current or former NFL cheerleader thinking of getting into the MMA game? Go read the entire Fox Sports piece and think long and hard about getting your head squeezed to where you feel like you’re dying.

It’s not a bad thing to be pretty. Think about it. It’s not like you’re making any money to have your life ruined by brain damage.
