You have no soul if this Game One intro from CBC doesn’t give you goosebumps. Nobody, and I mean nobody, does sporting event intros like the crew at Hockey Night In Canada. There is no use trying to emulate them because the HNIC crew are always spot-on with these videos. It would be like CBC trying to emulate NFL Films with Canadian football. You just know to stay away.
And that final vision of a guy holding the Cup with the sun setting. That’s a piece of hockey intro art right there.
NBC should get on the phone, tell CBC they’ll pay a couple million to run these intros so Americans can see greatness.
