H.S. Bat Flip of the Year — Hunt Smith Rips Grand Slam To Win Georgia State Title

I’m in tears. Seriously, tears are streaming down my face after watching this Hunt Smith bat flip last week in a Georgia high school state championship game. Knowing how much I appreciate a solid bat flip, @GaryParrishCBS sent this over today to make me get all emotional.

There’s just something so magical about ripping a bomb and launching your bat as a huge eff you to the pitcher. It takes me back to the Wiffle ball days when you were expected to launch a bat flip after going yard. And you stop to admire the dong. Hunt’s bat flip reminds me of winning a Wiffle ball HR derby on the last pitch. Clean contact. You know it when you make contact. Sweet spot.

According to WAMZ-13:

Hunt Smith smashed a grand slam to propel the Houston County boys to an 8-6 win over Whitewater in the championship game of the GHSA 5A baseball series at Whitewater Tuesday afternoon in Fayette County.

Smith’s blast followed an intentional walked and helped the Bears overcome an early 3-0 deficit. The grand slam put HoCo up 7-4.

Josh Profit added an insurance run with a home run in the 6th inning to give Houston County an 8-6 lead.

You know who is jealous of this bat flip? Asian Bat Flippers.
