Alabama Minor League Team Holding “John Rocker Night”

You can’t have “John Rocker Night” without John Rocker, right? Of course not.

The former MLB reliever will meet and greet fans on the way into Friday’s night Double-A level game between the Huntsville Stars and Birmingham Barons in Huntsville, Ala. (6:30 p.m. CT).

Since releasing his book Scars & Strikes in 2011, Rocker has kept a relatively low profile, popping up at small festivals, holding an Ask Me Anything on Reddit and beefing with fans on Twitter. A lot.

A few weeks ago (Apr. 27), Rocker did a book signing at the Taste of Marietta in Georgia. As you can see in the pic below, it looks like it was a pretty good time for the former closer: smokeshow to his right, beer in front of him and a sweet framed picture (with starburst!) to draw the fans into the tent.

We figure the scene will be similar in Huntsville on Friday. If you can’t make it there and still want Rocker’s autograph, you can see him in Cooperstown this summer:
