Yogi Berra Is Selling His New Jersey House – $888,000

Of course you know that Yogi Berra wore number 8 for the Yankees, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the hall of famer has listed his Montclair Twp, New Jersey house for $888,000. According to NJ.com, Yogi and his wife moved into the house in 1974.
Sadly, Yogi’s bride, Carmen, passed in March. She was 85.
The house has been empty for some time as the Berras moved into an assisted living facility. The family had been readying the house for its sale.
According to the realtor:

The spacious foyer leads to a stunning 3 story spiral staircase. The french doors in the elegant living room open to an enchanting canopied side porch. A grand, formal dining room includes a decorative fireplace and the wood paneled den/family room where Yogi spent many of his days includes a double sided wood burning fireplace. The master bedroom suite boasts an impressive formal dressing room, large bathroom & decorative fireplace. Seasonal NYC views.

Look at the Yankee Stadium art in the sitting room. I can picture Yogi and Mantle sitting on the back porch talking about Steinbrenner. Something tells me the ghosts in that house are going to be funny and great storytellers.
Should the house be bought and preserved as a national landmark? Yep. It would be the smartest $900,000 the government spent all year.
Mortgage: $3,400 before you start talking about New Jersey property taxes.
