That’s Central DeWitt (Iowa) junior Logan Sheppard, who came in average 1.3 a game, launching an 80-footer Tuesday against MOC-Floyd Valley in a Class 3A state quarterfinal game.
Kinda looks like he got fouled. The ref probably missed an “and one” right there. As for the rest of the game, DeWitt won 69-67. That 80-footer was the only shot and points Sheppard had in the game.
According to the Des Moines Register:

“I don’t really know how it happened but the ball just happened to get into my hands and I just threw it up and hoped that it went in,” Sheppard said.
