For whatever reason, Roy Jones Jr., one of the best and most exciting boxers of all time, is still duking it out in the ring at the age of 47. It really makes no sense considering the guy has a cushy commentating job with HBO, but apparently he just has to continue fighting nobodies.
Jones’ career hit peak-sadness Sunday night, when he went toe-to-toe with a fan named Vyron Phillips, who “earned” the fight — and potential $100,000 prize — by winning a Facebook competition.
As you can see below, Phillips took home a massive concussion instead of the money:
