Look, you have to give Illinois high schooler Nathan Podunajec credit here for the creativity on his prom date poster that he made for his girlfriend Rachel. The big problem here is that it’s not a question. It’s a statement. Of course he was nervous. I get it. Most of us were there at one point in life.
It’s clear Nathan, a junior at Lincoln High School, wanted to come up with the perfect sign to ask Rachel to be his date. He also knew this would play great on the Internet. You come up with a Manziel-inspired sign and your boys will go nuts. It’s a proven fact in the prom game.

Of course Rachel said yes. Nathan obviously has swagger to come up with that sign…even if it’s a statement. You know why I’m rooting for Nathan to have a crazy time at prom? I’m talking non-alcoholic champagne for days. This kid had to go through a 0-9 season (0-9 in 2014, too) as a running back for Lincoln.
This is why I’m rooting for the kid. You have to root for the kid playing on a team that was outscored 484-40.
