Ohio police detained a suspect carrying a backpack near the ESPN GameDay set today in Columbus. The male suspect was handcuffed and had his backpack removed after a nearly 10 minute conversation with the Ohio State patrol, who were working the GameDay event. The police eventually cleared the area around the backpack and called in a bomb squad to analyze the contents of the bag.
The bomb squad cleared the bag, but investigators continued to question the suspect. I was able to hear one investigator ask, “Are you here with anyone?”
The suspect was still handcuffed as the GameDay show went on with the picks segment.
