Report: Redskins Pressured GM's Wife Into Making Apology

Radar Online is reporting today that Jessica McCloughan, the wife of Redskins GM Scot McCloughan, was pressured into making a public apology for her tweets to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, accusing her of being Scot’s “side chick.” Radar says they reached Jessica’s sister-in-law and that there is now rumblings that the team, as we thought might happen, had her go along with an apology statement.

Shannon Rutherford, Jessica’s sister-in-law, told Radar that she knew about Jessica’s belief that her husband was cheating on her with the reporter, confirming that she has been aware “for a few weeks” about the “side chick” prior to the Twitter scandal.
When reached via phone on Wednesday night, Rutherford explained that she did not want to be involved in the “political situation,” but when asked if the Redskins pressured Jessica to release a statement that was not true, she told Radar, “Yes.”

As we first reported on Wednesday, a Google cache search revealed that there were two tweets sent by McCloughan, 36, to Russini accusing her of using ruthless tactics to get scoops. There was one tweet suggesting Russini used blowjobs for scoops. There was also the tweet accusing the now-ESPN reporter of having a relationship with Scot.
In her apology, Jessica took credit for those tweets. There’s no denying it was her.
