Back in June, the Kansas City Chiefs moved 5’8” De’Anthony Thomas from running back to wide receiver. Thomas’ take on the move when the decision was made (via ESPN):
“It makes me more valuable to the offense,” Thomas said. “It lets defenses look for me, see where I’m at on the field. It just gives them a different look. I believe it’s a great thing.”
Trust me, after you see the clip below, you’ll agree that it was definitely the right move. Thomas went one-on-one with cornerback Phillip Gaines during a drill Friday, and man, his route running was so precise he sent Gaines flying:
What De'Anthony Thomas just did to this DB.

Now if the Andy Reid can just cut that route down by five yards, Alex Smith may be able to get him the ball during the season.
Fingers crossed!
