The gates were opened Friday night on Bud Light’s Whatever USA on Catalina Island in the Pacific Ocean with a beach party highlighted by a DJ set from Diplo that ended this morning around 1 a.m. The usually quiet tourist island was transformed Friday into Bud Light’s very own party town where 500 contest winners (and plus-ones) from across the United States will partake in all sorts of craziness for the next 36 hours.
Winners were flown in to Los Angeles and ferried via the Catalina Express to Avalon, a beach town full of bars, restaurants and approximately 4, 000 full-time residents.
The key to making the WhateverUSA exciting for contest winners is that they don’t know much about what’s coming next. There are rumors of certain celebrities who’ll be brought in for today’s events, but there’s no confirmation. You just roll with the punches and have a blast.
