Late Tuesday night, the Las Vegas Raiders cleaned house and fired head coach Josh McDaniels and GM David Ziegler, along with offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi.

Ziegler, who took over as general manager in 2022 after Mike Mayock was fired after three seasons, joined the Raiders in 2022. McDaniels, meanwhile, was hired last season and went 6-11. Through eight games this year, McDaniels is 3-5 and lost on the national stage to cap off Week 8 on Monday Night Football against the Detroit Lions.

McDaniels has a head coaching record of 20-32.

Former New York Giants star linebacker Antonio Pierce, the team’s current linebacker coach, will serve as the Raiders’ interim head coach.

But who could be the longterm answer in Vegas? The oddsmakers have some thoughts.

Shortly after McDaniels’ firing, a list of potential replacements and odds were set with none other than Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh as the favorite. Of course, Harbaugh is in the middle of the sign-stealing scandal at Michigan, so it could impact the NFL’s willingness to welcome the head coach back to the ranks.

Other top candidates include Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, and Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.

Who else could be in the mix?
