UCF Football Unveils 2023 ‘Space U’ Uniforms For Oklahoma State Game

The UCF football program has unveiled its highly-anticipated “Space U” uniforms for 2023.

This year’s “Mission VII” uniforms will be worn on November 11 against the Oklahoma State Cowboys for UCF’s first Space Game as a member of the Big 12 Conference.

The Knights will be wearing all Canaveral blue uniforms for this year’s game which has the theme of “Reaching New Horizons.” It’s the first time that the uniforms are predominantly blue in the seven years of the beloved tradition.

The uniforms are complimented by a white helmet featuring the UCF logo on both sides.

The intricate detailing of the numbers holds plenty of meaning, with each layer and color representing something from space.

From the release:

The arch on the upper right portion of the numbers mimics the trajectory of rocket launches seen from the UCF campus. The white layer represents the clouds in the sky, while a reflective layer represents “night-glow” which is caused by radiation from the upper atmosphere. Finally, the black outline represents deep space.

The pant stripe features the visual of a rocket blasting from sky to stars, while the wings from UCF’s official Pegasus seal are featured on the shoulders of the jersey.

UCF is unbeaten in its seven Space Games, including a 70-13 win over the Temple Owls last season.

The 2023 Space Game between the Knights and Cowboys at FBC Mortgage Stadium will be held on Saturday, November 11.
