Carlos Alcaraz is a Wimbledon champion.
After dropping the first set to four-time defending Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic, Alcaraz rallied to take a 2-1 lead. He dropped the fourth set and momentum seemed to be shifting Djokovic’s way, but Carlito dug deep in the decider and held on for the win after getting an early break.
When it was all said and done, Alcaraz came away with the 1-6, 7(8)-6(6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 win to dethrone Djokovic at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

Alcaraz was a +150 underdog entering Sunday’s match, but he overcame the odds to win Wimbledon at just 20 years old and collected a cool $3 million.
Djokovic, meanwhile, collected $1.5 million as the tournament’s runner-up.
The Wimbledon victory is the second Grand Slam title of Alcaraz’s young career. Last year, Alcaraz won the U.S. Open as the No. 3 seed by defeating No. 5 seed Casper Ruud in four sets.
Congratulations to Alcaraz. We’ll be seeing a lot of him for years to come.
