Cole Buckley, 21, Faces Assault & Battery Charge Over Kyrie Irving Incident

The Boston Celtics fan who tossed a water bottle at the head of Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving following Sunday night’s game is facing a very serious legal charge after being arrested and banned from TD Garden for life.

According to reports, the man who was arrested was Cole Buckley, a 21-year-old fan, who is set to be arraigned on Tuesday.

The fan is facing a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Sportico legal expert Michael McCann notes that the assault and battery charge with a dangerous weapon is a felony under Massachusetts law.

“Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon is a felony in Massachusetts,” McCann wrote. “A conviction can lead to a prison sentence of up to 10 yrs. A plea deal can greatly lower the charge/sentence, but still. Wow.”

Let this just drive home the point that you should never throw objects at a player. Because no matter what, it is never going to end well for you.
