It is Week 6 of the NFL season and some surprising teams have found their way to the top of their divisions while others have disappointed. On Sunday afternoon, the undefeated and 4-0 Carolina Panthers hit the road to face the 2-3 Seattle Seahawks in a game that means plenty for both teams. Cam Newton has thrown for 809 yards to go with seven touchdowns and two interceptions for Carolina, who had a bye week in Week 5. Jonathan Stewart is leading the team in rushing with 220 yards on the ground while Greg Olsen has 17 catches for 243 yards and two touchdowns in the pass game.
Seattle has been struggling early on but Russell Wilson still has 1,192 passing yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. Marshawn Lynch is expected back for the Seahawks in this one but in his absence, Thomas Rawls has led the run game with 326 yards and a touchdown. Jermaine Kearse is Seattle’s leading receiver with 18 catches for 274 yards even with Jimmy Graham now on the roster at tight end. A Carolina win would give them sole possession of first place in the NFC South while Seattle is trying to avoid going to 2-4 on the season which would put their chances of defending the NFC Championship in serious jeopardy.
