Jason Kubel Is Selling His Incredible Southern California Retreat – $3.5 Million

Jason Kubel put together a pretty nice life for himself and his family via a decent MLB career that once saw him finish 24th (2009) in the MVP race and collect $31,430,500 in career earnings. That afforded him the opportunity to buy a very nice Southern California house in 2010 for $1,945,000. That was around the time Kubes was about to start cashing in on his MLB talent. He eventually made $15M over two seasons with the D-Backs and Indians.
Now it’s time to sell and don’t feel sad for the Kubel family. They’re looking to turn a very healthy profit (minus upgrades) by selling the Calabasas house for $3,500,000. Don’t blame the guy a bit. Get out now while the real estate is high and before the state government outlaws filling up pools.
From Kubes’ realtor:

Once in a While Under the Rarest Of Circumstances Does a Property of this Magnitude Become Available. Luxurious Single Story Tuscan Estate with the Perfect Blend of Warmth & Style Located on a Little Over an Acre Lot in The Gated & Prestigious Mureau Estates Community of Calabasas. This Estate Features 5676 SF, 5 Beds, 6 Baths, an Open Flowing Floor Plan, Rich Wood Floors, Vaulted Ceilings, Designer Paint, High End Finishes, a Complete Smart House Audio/Video System, Separate Guest House/Casitas, and an Atrium.

Take a good look at the aerial photo of this place. Notice where the pool is located. Then notice where the batting cage is located. Brilliant move here from Kubes. Get the cage as far away from the pool as possible for concentration purposes. The last thing you want is for kids to distract you while working on the swing.

Other highlights of Jason Kubel’s impressive pad:

• The theatre is nice, but you’ll need a much bigger TV…that thing won’t cut it
• Putting green is slick, no need to leave home
• Look at that pool package; the tub, the waterfall, the slide; has it all
6 miles from Whole Foods
25 miles from Whiskey A Go Go
Mortgage: You’re looking at a healthy $13,000 a month before CA taxes, high water bills, etc.
