Cowboys running back Joseph Randle signed a $2.3 million rookie contract in 2013 after being a 5th round pick out of Oklahoma State. That contract also provided him with $188,000 signing bonus. His salary this season is $495,000. Obviously that’s not life-changing money once you pay an agent, get a nice car and rent a condo in the Dallas market. In the case of Randle, that salary must leave you scrambling for money, because he was arrested Monday night for shoplifting underwear and cologne.
From what I can see on his Twitter account (@JRAN_1), the guy seems to live fairly well. Maybe there was a medical issue and he lost his mind. Who knows.
What I do know is that NSFW Black Dudes didn’t cut the guy any slack AT ALL. It’s now clear to all athletes that if you steal underwear and cologne, NSFW Black Dudes are coming after your ass. It’s open season.
