The Miami Dolphins are keeping their offensive line intact. The team has agreed to a three-year, $52.5 million contract extension with center Aaron Brewer, locking him in with $37 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The $17.5 million average annual salary makes Brewer the third-highest paid center in the NFL – trailing only Raiders center Tyler Linderbaum and Chiefs center Creed Humphrey. Not bad for a player who only just earned his first second-team All-Pro nod in his sixth NFL season.

Brewer’s re-signing comes at a critical moment for Miami.

The Dolphins are heading into 2025 with Malik Willis under center – a significant shift after the team released Tua Tagovailoa, who spent six seasons in Miami after being drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Tagovailoa has since landed with the Atlanta Falcons, while Willis arrives after four seasons as a backup with the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans.

It’s a lot of change for one offseason. Miami also traded wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and released Tyreek Hill, stripping back an offense that was once built around speed and playmaking on the outside. With those moves, Brewer and running back De’Von Achane stand out as two of the few familiar faces left in Miami’s offensive core.

Securing Brewer early gives Willis at least one constant to work with as he takes over a roster that looks very different from the one that existed just months ago.
