The Jaguars will be short-handed when they face the Chargers at home Sunday, with three starters and a key backup unable to suit up.

Right tackle Anton Harrison won’t play due to knee and ankle issues, while corner Jourdan Lewis (neck), tight end Brenton Strange (hip/quad) and backup tight end Hunter Long (hip/knee) are also sidelined. The team listed rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr. as questionable with an ankle injury that limited him in practice.

Lewis and Long are missing their second straight game.

The Jags (5-4) had opened Strange’s 21-day practice window earlier this week, giving fans hope he might return after missing four consecutive games. That return will have to wait at least another week as the second-year tight end continues working back to full strength.

Cole Van Lanen is expected to step in at right tackle for Harrison, while Montaric Brown – who filled in for Lewis last Sunday – should get the nod again at cornerback against Justin Herbert and the Chargers’ passing attack.

Injuries have been a significant concern for Doug Pederson’s squad, with 15 players appearing on this week’s injury report. The team is looking to build on last week’s win over Minnesota as they fight to stay atop the AFC South standings.
