Deion Sanders isn’t waiting for the 2025 NFL Draft to shape his son Shedeur’s professional future. The Colorado head coach has already begun meeting with NFL teams — making it clear he’ll play an active role in determining where his son lands.

Speaking with Rich Eisen during Super Bowl week, the Hall of Fame cornerback predicted his son would be selected within the first three picks. It’s exactly the kind of bold declaration NFL fans have come to expect from the man who earned the nickname “Prime Time” during his playing days with the Dallas Cowboys.

What’s raising eyebrows around the league is Sanders’ admission that he’s actively discouraging certain teams from drafting Shedeur. While he won’t name specific franchises — citing respect for team executives — his influence on the pre-draft process is becoming increasingly apparent.

The Tennessee Titans, who hold the coveted first overall pick and need a quarterback, haven’t yet met with the elder Sanders.

Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry isn’t concerned about Sanders’ involvement. He’s already stated publicly that Deion’s opinions wouldn’t affect their evaluation of Shedeur as a potential draft pick.

The New York Giants, sitting at No. 3 overall, have emerged as an intriguing possibility. The chance to become a star in the media capital of the world might appeal to both father and son — who’ve never shied away from the spotlight.

Teams considering Shedeur will need to factor in his father’s active involvement in the process. Whether that proves beneficial or challenging for the young quarterback’s NFL career remains to be seen.
