Joe Burrow is a quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals. He plays very well and helps his team win games. He’s one of the few quarterbacks who can play by the book and still succeed.
Burrow was drafted in 2020.
Since joining the Bengals, Burrow has turned them into playoff contenders each year. The 27-year-old quarterback keeps getting better and even made his first Pro Bowl in 2022.
In 2023, he had some bad luck with wrist and calf injuries that messed up the season for him and his team. But he’s ready to lead the Bengals to win their division this year.
During an interview with “Pardon My Take,” Burrow confidently predicted that the Bengals would top their division at the end of the 2024 season. He also talked about a fun idea for a touchdown celebration against their rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“If I get a rushing touchdown this year, I might bring back the fake moon,” Burrow said. “It’s got to be on the road, though.”
Co-host Eric Sollenberger suggested doing it against Pittsburgh, and Burrow simply replied, “OK.”
Joe Burrow says he might bring back the Randy Moss fake moon taunt if he rushes for a touchdown during a road game this season.
"Do it against Pittsburgh."
Burrow: "OK."

The “fake moon” celebration was originally performed by Randy Moss in 2004 during a playoff game. Moss was playing for the Minnesota Vikings at that time and was frustrated with their rivals, the Green Bay Packers.
Moss had missed both regular-season games against the Packers due to injury but got his chance for revenge in the playoffs. After catching a touchdown pass, he pretended to moon the Green Bay fans as payback for their earlier taunts.
Broadcaster Joe Buck was visibly upset by Moss’ actions and commented live on air, “That is a disgusting act by Randy Moss, and it’s unfortunate that we had that on our air live,” Buck said. “That is disgusting.”
Moss later clarified that his celebration was a direct response to Packers fans who had mooned the Vikings’ team bus earlier in the day.
“As we go into Lambeau, there’s probably ten [Packers fans mooning us], sitting there over the hill,” Moss explained. “They got all their pants down; it’s nothing but White moons all lined up.”
Burrow hopes his version of the celebration will get a better reaction from announcers if he performs it against Steelers fans. The Bengals will face off against Pittsburgh in their regular-season finale on January 5, 2025.
