Facebook and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is a known jiu-jitsu enthusiast and has spent time rolling on the mats with some of the top athletes in mixed martial arts.

Zuckerberg has previously been seen training with former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski.

So, with Volkanovski set to fight for the lightweight title on Saturday afternoon at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, Zuck sent a message of support to Volkanovski before he takes on Islam Makhachev in the main event.

YouTuber Nina Drama was on the scene in Abu Dhabi and interviewing some of the top fighters on the card, and she surprised Volk with a message from his billionaire pal.

“Hey Volk! Really excited for your fight this weekend,” Zuckerberg said.

“Your last one was already one of the best fights of the year and this time, I’m looking forward to seeing you go out there and cement your status as one of the greatest of all time. Alright, good luck and have fun out there, man.”

The full event can be seen on Nina Drama’s YouTube page.

Volkanovski previously faced Makhachev at UFC 284 in February 2023 in Perth, Australia, with Makhachev earning a unanimous decision victory to retain his title in the Fight of the Night. Now, Volkanovski will be looking for revenge on short notice after replacing former champion Charles Oliveira who was forced to withdraw due to injury.

UFC 294 will kick off at 10:00 a.m. ET with the preliminary card on ESPN+. The action then shifts to pay-per-view beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET.
