The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to action last weekend with UFC Vegas 39 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. In the main event, Marina Rodriguez scored a big win over jiu-jitsu ace Mackenzie Dern.

Following the event, the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced the medical suspensions for UFC Vegas 39 with eight fighters — including Dern and co-main event participant Randy Brown — facing potential six-month layoffs.

Dern must have a right thumb x-ray. If positive, she must have orthopedic doctor clearance before returning. Brown, meanwhile, must have a right great toe x-ray and left knee MRI and clearance. Both fighters could be out of action until April 8, 2022.
