The CFL’s Edmonton football team officially has a new name.
After previously announcing the team would be switching its team name because it was considered racially insensitive, the team formerly known as the “Eskimos” is now known as the Edmonton Elks.
The team announced the name change on social media.
“The team you know and love — new name, same game,” the video announcing the change said. “Proud as ever. Bolder than ever. As fierce as they come.”

Edmonton was also considering options like the Evergreens, Elements, Eclipse, Evergolds, Eagles, and Elkhounds.
