Dustin Poirier says Conor McGregor didn’t follow through on a promise made prior to their rematch at UFC 257 back in January.
According to Poirier, McGregor stopped responding to messages after their fight and didn’t make the $500,000 donation to Poirier’s “The Good Fight Foundation” that he had pledged to do.
McGregor recently predicted he would win the trilogy fight between the two men at UFC 264 on July 10 by front kick knockout in the fourth round, which sparked a response from the Louisiana native.
“That’s a fun prediction! @TheNotoriousMMA you also predicted a donation to my foundation and you and your team stopped responding after the fight in January,” Poirier wrote on Twitter.
“See you soon. July 10th Paid In Full!”

A back-and-forth then followed.
“A donation, not a debt. We’ve been awaiting the plans for the money that never came. I do with all my donations,” McGregor responded on Twitter. “Know where it’s going dot for dot. Otherwise it goes walking. As is the case with a lot of these foundations, sadly. You took the McG over the belt shows I was right.”
That led to a final response from Poirier, who plans to finish the trilogy with a win.
“100% never a debt. You offered, we accepted, and like I said your Team never responded to our emails regarding the process of where funds would be put to work! July 10th you will taste defeat yet Again,” he responded.

Following their last fight at UFC 257 in which McGregor was knocked out in the second round, the brash Irishman said he picked the wrong opponent while looking towards a boxing match against Manny Pacquiao that is now off of the table.
And after watching the fight back, McGregor began looking for a trilogy fight “for all the marbles” against Poirier in the future.
“[One] a piece [sic] now with a Trilogy bout for all the marbles!” McGregor wrote on Instagram. “Not a trilogy I was expecting, nor the tactical affair I was anticipating, but I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t meant to be. This is exactly how this was always meant to be!
“A little single disciplined in my approach and stance with mostly boxing. It’s what I get for picking this bout and opponent as a precursor to a boxing match against Pacman. I deserved to get the legs kicked off me going in with this thinking.”
Now, he will get his wish, and there will be some extra bad blood.
