Who will be the next UNC basketball coach?

That is the question on everyone’s mind after legendary college basketball coach Roy Williams announced his retirement on Thursday morning. Williams retired after 33 seasons and 903 wins.

Shortly after the announcement, there was immediate speculation about who will replace Williams in Chapel Hill.

Of course, the oddsmakers were on the case.

The early favorites to replace Williams on the Tar Heels bench are current North Carolina assistant coaches Hubert Davis and Wes Miller. Davis is the favorite at +100, while Miller checks in with +275 odds. Both men played collegiately for UNC.

Outside of the assistants is another former Tar Heel in Jerry Stackhouse, a two-time NBA All-Star who is currently head coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Longshots, meanwhile, include Vince Carter, Rick Pitino, Mark Few, and Michael Jordan.
