“That’s^^ my best friend!,” Taylor Klawunder said of Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush on Instagram back in July. Folks, there’s a chance you might be seeing Taylor at the Heisman ceremony in New York if he keeps shredding the Michigan defense (game in progress as I blog this) like he is tonight.
Klawunder, from Coto de Caza, Calif., played soccer at Notre Dame, finishing off her senior season by appearing in 22 games. Here’s an interesting tidbit from Klawunder’s soccer bio:
- One of two sets of twins (along with Monica and Sabrina Flores) in their Notre Dame class (the first twins ever to play for the Fighting Irish)
- Part of first set of sisters to appear on Notre Dame women’s soccer roster in same season since 2001 (Kelly and Kate Tulisiak, who were the only sisters in program history to play for the Fighting Irish before the 2014 pair of twins)
