We’ve officially hit May, the draft is over and we’re in the prime dead period of the NFL calendar, so now is when we’re going to start seeing these off the field stories pop up that we get every year to fill this time. The Redskins, as always it seems like, is going to be right in the middle of this off-season news cycle.
You already have this NY Times report about the Redskins cheerleaders feeling like they were getting pimped out by the team, which will give Bob Ley a week’s worth of content on Outsides The Lines. So we might as well throw in the Redskins logo debate while we’re at it. Former Redskins defensive tackle AJ Francis, who just signed with the Giants this week, went ahead and sparked that topic right back up with this IG post yesterday.

This is what he captioned on IG.
When the team you were on didn’t appreciate you but the team you played against actually pays attention to the film… #NYStateOfMind #GIANTS#GMEN #BigBlue #NewBeginnings#ImaSeeYallAssTwiceThisYear#October28th #December9th#AndYourLogoIsRacist#ThisMeLaughingAtYallBIGMADinTheCommentsToo 😂😂😂🤘🏽
It seems he’s more interested in ripping the actual personnel in the Redskins building for cutting him, rather than the actual logo, but he just threw that hashtag in there for good measure on his way out the door. That should be just enough to get this debate fired up again.
Now the morning shows have some NFL content to get them through this dead period. You can always fall back on the racist logo discussion.
So former #Redskins DL AJ Francis sure had some strong words after getting cut and signing with the Giants… pic.twitter.com/wKbQDAft7O
