We got to see just a little taste of vintage Johnny Football yesterday in the first half of his Spring League debut yesterday. This TD pass was everything we loved about Johnny. Scrambling, improvising, and making plays that most QBs couldn’t with his feet.
His wife Bre even got to see what she wanted, what made the country fall in love with this dude 5-6 years ago.
Even with that, he still got some rust to get off. He finished 9/15 with 82 yards and 3 sacks. Not the most electric performance we’ve ever seen, but you have to remember this his first live football game in over two years. He had a late drive with a chance to go down and win the game, but wasn’t able to get it done.
HOWEVER, that TD might’ve been enough to least get some NFL execs perked up. It seems slowly but surely teams are coming around on the idea of bringing him in, as much as some might not like it.
Checked with several teams this morning about Manziel’s subpar performance yesterday. There is still NFL interest in him.
Unfreakingbelievable.
And by unfreakingbelievable I mean totally believable.— mike freeman (@mikefreemanNFL) April 8, 2018
The word I keep hearing from NFL execs is “potential.” They think Manziel’s potential is off the charts.
But I just don’t see it.— mike freeman (@mikefreemanNFL) April 8, 2018
