Vontaze Burfict pulled a very Vontaze Burfict move this afternoon when he hit running back Giovani Bernard in a non-tackle drill and set off a little scrum. We’d chalk this up to normal training camp shenanigans, but Bernard is coming off a torn ACL so you can imagine why players on the offensive side were peeved — though, the video will show you the tackle wasn’t that bad:

On the plus side, dirty Vontaze is reportedly in “tremendous shape” and was impressed coaches on Monday (via ESPN’s Katherine Terrell):
Burfict got into the backfield several times. On one play during team drills, Burfict came up the middle, quickly shed a block by tight end Cethan Carter to meet running back Joe Mixon behind the line of scrimmage. On another play, Burfict came around the tackle to stop Tra Carson for a loss.
As per usual, it will be another season of the Bengals taking the good with the bad in regards to Vontaze (and Pacman, and now Joe Mixon).
