When the Seattle Seahawks signed Eddie Lacy to a one-year, $5.5 million deal ($3 mill guaranteed) in March, they were wise enough to include multiple weight incentives (seven, to be exact) to prevent the running back from inhaling China food throughout the offseason.
Eddie Lacy's weight incentives breakdown ($55k for each month achieved)
May: 255 lbs
June & August: 250 lbs
September-December: 245 lbs— Field Yates (@FieldYates) March 16, 2017
It may seem crazy to incentivize weight goals for a professional athlete, but it looks like holding back extra cash was the right motivation as Eddie weighed in just under 255 pounds today:
Eddie Lacy weighed in at 253 pounds today, two below the limit the Seahawks set: now collects $55,000 for it.

Considering that Eddie was around 267 pounds for his free agency visits, this is a major step in the right direction. Of course, there’s always the possibility that Eddie downs a bunch of Big Macs this afternoon to celebrate.
Check back in on June 12 when Eddie tries to get under 250 pounds.
