Bama’s new massive (6-5, 280) JUCO defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs showed off what appears to be his Christmas gift last night on Twitter before deleting the tweet and mentioning his haters. Buggs announced in mid-December that he was choosing Bama over LSU. Buggs, from Ruston, Louisiana, released a statement thanking LSU for giving him the opportunity to play in his home state…but…he needed to take his talents to hated Bama.
I just want everyone to understand how hard this decision was to make. Without having a complete coaching staff ready to roll, my family and I made the decision to sign with Alabama. Thanks for supporting my decision. Geaux Tigers.
Of course Twitter never fails to react to a shiny new car tweet from a college football player, especially when the player suddenly chooses Bama over the home state. You know what comes next: “Saban bought him.”
Look, we have no evidence that Bama bought Buggs or his car. Maybe there was a bag man. Maybe there wasn’t. All I’m saying is if you’re LSU, you might want to do more next time. In fact, this is why I’ve always said I’m for boosters to be allowed to pay players. I want to see how far a booster will go to get a player. I want to see what kind of contract rich boosters will come up with to get the players needed to win. We already have the same few teams who can actually win the national championship. Open this up to rich guys to compete against one another. Think of the TV shows where billionaires are bidding on players. INSANITY.

Buggs can start practicing with Bama on January 3.
The car was posted just before the “Trust the process” tweet.
